who is argo art?

Brian Argo has been making art off and on for most of his life. A Bessemer native, he studied art and theology at the University of Mobile. He spent a couple of decades working as a pastor, worship leader, and missionary. Then, Brian took back up painting three years ago after about a 20-year hiatus. Although he works full-time as a worship pastor at Mars Hill Church, he loves painting and drawing the Gulf region he calls home, which in turn provides supplemental income for him and his family.

Brian is primarily a landscape and figure artist. His work is representational, painterly, and vividly colorful. He has worked with acrylics for the past few years but has recently come to prefer painting with oils. He is also experienced with drawing in graphite, charcoal, as well as pen and ink. His subjects have ranged from houses and historical buildings to portraits of people and pets, but his main area of interest is landscapes, particularly sunsets and nocturnes. He currently resides with his family and delinquent dachshund in Silverhill, AL, showcasing much of his work locally.
